Twelve Matches..Fingers Crossed.

Post by 222gers » Mon Feb 26, 2024 4:08 pm

It seems our survival hopes will be contigent upon the availabilty of certain key players and the possible causes of their absence:

Injuries - JCS, Willock and to an extent Cannon, Smyth and Armstrong

Suspensions - Colbeck ( already missing the next 2 ) and Field

Legal - Chair

Well, we'll be lucky if we can field 'em all every week but it's about time we had some luck.

12 cup finals
Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!

Some difficult matches coming up and teams around us also starting to find their form. It's going to be a tough challenge and a team with 50+ points could still be going down.
I think anything is possible with us. We can go up to Leicester and win but we can also lose at home to Birmingham. I'd say it's 50/50 now which is a lot better than before Marti came in. 20 points from the last 12 games needed to be absolutely 100% sure.

The next 12 include 7 of the top 10, so if we can get 20 points, we should be looking at challenging for the playoffs next season. I don't think we will manage it, but I think it will be enough.
Main worries for me are willock and chair. With Hayden in, Field and Colback are less of a worry, but we are still not very good at scoring and sometimes we really need some creativity against teams that are hard to break down.
