2021/22 Championship Prediction
Sorry Danish, to steal your thunder. I blame lockdown.
I think we are looking at a season of solidity as we continue to get the 'sustainable' bricks and mortar on last season's foundations.
Above all I am looking forward to being back at HR to see it in the flesh ....
Fulham
Notts Forest
West Brom
Swansea
Sheff Utd
Stoke
Barnsley
Cardiff
Birmingham
Middlesborough
QPR
Reading
Bristol
Bournemouth
Derby
Luton
Millwall
Blackburn
Hull
Preston
Huddersfield
Coventry
Blackpool
Peterborough

Re: 2021/22 Championship Prediction
I'm surprised you think we'll do worse than we did this last season. If the two transfers we're hoping for go through and we add a good RB, I can't see any reason why we wouldn't be knocking on the door of the top 6.

Re: 2021/22 Championship Prediction
I just can't see us getting those away wins when the crowds are back. I think the away wins by one goal margins at the big grounds will turn into draws or narrow defeats.

A fun exercise but impossible to predict until all squads are settled

I salute your initiative Old Pauline - it's about time we start the guesswork
I have the following comment to your bid:
Even Chris Houghton will not be able to take Forrest to 2nd. I predict mid table
Unless Derby get a new owner and sack Rooney, they will also struggle next year
All three relegated teams will be top 6 material and all promoted teams will be bottom half at best
As for our beloved team I will take your hand and agree on mid table but hope for more

We’re 25/1 to win the league, but 7/1 to be promoted.
That’s a decent chance.

Never the optimist but this team has the same feeling as the 2010/2011 promotion winning team.
I have a feeling our new moroccan magician will have his best season yet, he's looked very confident and fit so far in pre season. Can't wait to get the season started.

Re: 2021/22 Championship Prediction
Have I missed something with Forest & Cardiff? I will be surprised if Forest finish in the top half. 'boro could be the dark horses this season, some prudent transfers so far.
It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope.

Re: 2021/22 Championship Prediction
Glad to see this post has been brought back to life.
I think West Brom, under Barnsley's manager, will be very powerful.
Conversely, Fulham under Mario Silva, may slip down.
Boro are not doing very well in pre-season Esox.
Sheff U have hung on to almost everyone and they have a big strong squad. I think they will come second.

Re: 2021/22 Championship Prediction
Over the last 10 Championship seasons, the average points needed to finish top is 93.8 - most 102 and least 87. The average points needed to finish 6th is 74.3 - most 80 and least 68.
We finished on 68 points last season, so just over 6 points shy of 6th in an average year.
We're in better shape than we were last year, with quite a few in the league in worse shape.
A top 6th final placing is looking very possible.
Gentlemen, I rest my case.
