Over the last 10 Championship seasons, the average points needed to finish top is 93.8 - most 102 and least 87. The average points needed to finish 6th is 74.3 - most 80 and least 68.
We finished on 68 points last season, so just over 6 points shy of 6th in an average year.
We're in better shape than we were last year, with quite a few in the league in worse shape.
A top 6th final placing is looking very possible.
Gentlemen, I rest my case.
Here here!

Undeniably.... and it won't even be close.

Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

Promoted : West Brom, Sheff Utd, Bournemouth
Relegated : Derby, Blackpool, Hull
I'm loath to read too much into pre-season friendlies, but our performances against Premier League opposition have certainly been impressive. Given the signings we've made, the play-offs have to be the goal and look a possibility, but I'm not sure we quite have the strength in depth to ultimately make it.
I'm a bit worried at the expectation levels at the moment, as I'm sure the manager will quickly be under pressure if we don't get off to a flyer. At any rate, it's nice to be going into a new season looking upwards rather just hoping to stay in this division for another year.

Agree. Excellent effort there, OP.
You're clearly too modest to say it, but yours was pretty good too, Danish. Four of the top six and two of the bottom three. Have you ever managed a football team by any chance.....I know where there's a job going.
