This is the brainchild of their CEO - Paul Fletcher.

The basic idea is that when the stadium isn't in use, the roller blinds come down, the first few rows of seats retract and a sort of mini indoor stadium is created. You can see an animated version of that happening here : http://www.stadiarena.com/
Apparently the space can be utilised for concerts, exhibitions etc. Why would you hold a concert in Burnley when the MEN is just down the road (with a bigger capacity)
