never been an issue?

I think that's a pretty naive comment to make.

Like I have said the number one objective has been to remove Mubarak and his regime from power and that has finally been achieved.

But the fact of the matter is his regime was supported 100% by both US and Israel and the Egyptian people are fully aware of that.

It will be interesting to see how the relationship between the countries develops going forward one thing is guaranteed things will never be the same again and that can only be good news for Palestine.

Mubarak may have gone, his regime certainly hasn't. Time will tell if it ever does.

Today the Military High Command asked thei Govt, all Mubarak appointees to stay on for an as yet undetermined time & also a spokesman for the Armed Forces Supreme Council underlined the military's "commitment to all Egypt's international treaties." That was said during a TV broadcast.

Uncertain times for sure, but no great strategic change in direction by Egypt looks likely at the moment.

'Clearly'? I think the word you're looking for is 'apparently'. Maybe, just maybe, the army has been playing along game.

If Egyptians really do get democracy, Israel has nothing to fear. That's all I've ever said & I firmly believe that.

If you've paid any attention at all the only issues that caused this uprising are domestic issues. There's been no Israeli & US flag burning, no demonstrations outside the US or Israeli embassies. Nothing.

Only people like you have tried to make this about anything but domestic issues, for your own ends thereby showing you really dont give a toss about democracy for the Egyptians but just want to see your own narrow agenda advanced.

Your comments in this thread have proved that, not that we didn't know anyway.

See the link below Stan, it shows thousands and thousands of Egyptians on the streets of Cairo demonstrating against Israel showing their support for the imprisoned people of Palestine.
If you watch the whole clip you will even see an Israeli flag being burned.

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/179910.html

The pressure is rising on Israel to change its inhumane and illegal policies against the Palestinians and now with a free Egypt the people are voicing their will to end the blockade of Gaza.

Great news for Palestine , Israels days as the oppressor are numbered.

there's so much going on right now it's difficult to say which way it's all gonna end up.

There's 80 million people in Egypt. 10s of 1000s burning the Israeli flag (original Laughing ) wont change their governments policy because immediately the people will start to suffer if they did that. That's not even taking into account the amount it will cost to remilitarize the border with Israel & of course this week Egypt went with a begging bowl to anybody who would listen for loans. Egypt will not be reneging on the peace treaty with Israel anytime soon.

None of that mentions what's going on in Syria. Any influence that country had on the region is now gone. That's a great thing for Israel.

Then there's the reproachment between Hamas & Fatah. Any illusion that the Palestinians want peace is now gone aswell.

Then there's Jordan. Their economy is now in tatters due to Egyptian pipeline supplying them with gas now inoperational.

Overall, I dont think Israel is to worried. Of course the prize to all this Iran where Amahjenidad & the Ayatollah are at each other's throats & STUXNET still FLIPPING up any nuclear ambitions they had.

Nope, at the moment it's "as you were" over there but if anything, Israel is in a stronger position now than a year ago. There can be no doubt that Israel is surrounded by countries run by brutal dictators & inhabited by populations who have no interest in peace at all, even if W13 & his mob support them.

Your assessment of the region is laughable.

As I am sure you are aware tomorrow the 15th of May is the Nakba , marking 63 years of crimes against the Palestinian people.

There will be huge gatherings all over the world in solidarity with the Palestinians and all of Israels neighbors will be supporting the rights of the Palestinians.

The pressure is growing and in time things will change for the good of humanity and the Palestinians will be free again.

The old will die but the young will never forget , viva Palestina.

they'll never be free. They'll just be subjugated by their own leaders publicly (now the Western Press just ignore that fact thereby keeping it private) like the rest of the Arab world.

I think that all these demonstrations tomorrow are good for Israel. It'll make very clear that they aren't really interested in the Palestinians, they just want to destroy Israel. Hopefully it'll harden our resolve, if it needed hardening, which it doesn't.

BTW W13, in 2 years Israel will be the world's 3rd largest exporter of gas. We'll have many more firends then than we do now Very Happy So much for pressure then.

They will never be free if its left to people like yourself to decide.

Good for Israel ? This will highlight the worlds attention on Israels continuous crimes against humanity and that can never be a good thing for Israel.

'our resolve' ? - Who are you speaking of when you say 'our resolve' ? Are you talking about America? Are you talking about Israelis or are you talking about Jews? It can't be all three of them Stan.

Again if you are so passionate and proud of your stolen country then why don't you go and live there ? As long as you are thousands of miles away you are a homeless voice with no meaning.

And as Willo comments on where does this child like boast about Israels stolen gas reserves being the 3rd largest in the world come from? Your desperation is evident.

Israel - The original and only TERRORIST state , you must be so proud. Embarassed

Not at all , I would rather we never had to talk about Israel.

?

Lee I added a comment on this old Egyptian thread to show Stan that there is indeed a large amount of people in Egypt that have a problem with the relationship that Egypt has had with Israel under Mubarak.

Stan was adamant it had nothing to do with Israel but as the link I posted shows there are thousands of Egyptians who want a change to the relationship and to support the beleaguered Palestinians.

This is very important for the balance of power in the region and its not good news for Israel as Stan would have you believe.

the pseudo revolution in Egypt did have nothing to do with Israel. That doesn't mean the people there dont have an opinion on Israel.

Please dont tell me, having had 4 months to digest what actually went on there, you actually still believe there actually was any sort of real change in Egypt?

Right now there are serious clashes on all of Israels borders.

Israeli forces have opened fire on Nakba protesters and reports indicate that Israel has already killed 2 young protesters and that number will rise.

You condemn Syria for the crackdown on protesters in their country but do not hold Israel to the same standards , you are a hypocrite.

The heat is on , and this is not good news for Israel.

Friendless in the region and friendless in the world.

Not contributing to the debate as I know relatively nothing about it.
But W13, what would be your reaction to Avram Grant being appointed QPR manager? (ignoring football reasons).

Not a trick question, not a dig - just an honest question regarding your strength of feeling.

That's perhaps the most hypocritical post you've ever made, 800 odd killed in Syria this past month or so & not even one word from you & maybe double that in Iran last year & you still worship the "good doctor".
