Have I missed something? Both countires rulers are attacking and killing their own people yet the UN have only acted against Libya? Shocked

its a bit tough to act against Bahrian as it has invited another sovereign state into its country to 'deal' with the situation.

to act against them we would have to act against saudi arabia- who are more friendly to the west than gadffi duck.

by enforcing a no fly while there is still resistance ensures that the will of the people will oppose a dictator and not the west, the west are there to contain not to invade, the resolution prevents that.

this is why, and if we did what is inferred, we may as well go for Korea, Zimbabwe and Cardiff too.

Galloway spot on as he so often is on these affairs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk2u-pvOpcc&feature=player_embedded

Where is the pressure on Yemen, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia ?

Where was the 'international communities' care for the people of Zimbabwe or Rwanda ?

I often wonder whether anyone in the military who are ordered to carry out these operations ever actually ask themselves any questions about what they are being told to do.

Am I doing this to protect the United Kingdom? Is the UK under any threat from Libya?

The answer is quite clearly no so I don't think we have any business committing our forces.

We are entering a dangerous period in history if we can seemingly launch an attack on a country just because they have a dictator we dislike.

As Galloway mentions in this clip there is a distinct danger of Gaddafi striking us in revenge.

I wonder if all the supporters of this intervention would still back it if there was an attack on our soil killing British citizens ?

No doubt Sarkozy Obama and Cameron will all get a boost in the opinion polls for looking 'tough', will be interesting to see how this pans out as things could be very unpredictable a la the cakewalk that never was in Iraq.

It would be fair to say that regardless of what Mr Galloway has said, the air force in the charge of col. Gadaffi duck has today indeed attacked an area of Libya that is only occupied by Libyan citizens.

I will forgive Mr galloway of this over sight as this news is fast moving, however there is a vote to approve the action that we are to potentially subscribe to just after lunchtime on Monday n the house of commons, if there is any objections I hope Mr galloway can use his contacts to sway common sense then, but there again the charges of being in the pay of Col Gadaffi duck have not completely gone away.

I don't need his bins to know that.

Is it not a possibility that this coalition attack may end up making the already desperate Gaddafi increasingly violent against his own people rather than wave the white flag ?

It could easily give him a propaganda advantage in that he can play the whole 'they want our oil spiel' which does obviously hold sway.

I would be surprised if he and his cronies went off quietly into the sunset.

Our aggression could end up escalating the violence throughout the country leading to more casualties.

But since when did we ever care about the casualties of war ?

Over 1 million killed from our Illegal invasion of Iraq. That cakewalk didn't work out too well.

Didn't take long for Cameron get a semi at the thought of using our military in a foreign intervention , Tony Blair mark 2 ? lets hope not.

what I dont understand is that if the Arab League voted for a no fly zone or whatever, why didn't they enforce it themselves? They all have air forces.

It's crazy if you ask me.

Apparently there's a 'special move' you can do on the XBox 360 that takes you straight to the 'Boss' level against Gadaffi as whichever leader you want to be. 'X'X' down'B'down'A Cool

well, there are many views about the situation, we all could be right, the only worry politically is the lack of an end game.

Cameroon could well have his bluff called now that the US have moved on this idea that he has hung is conscience on.

as to the cheat mode to get to the end of level boss, this can be achieved by holding down the commodore key and pressing return.
