Well I kind of know what you mean, I've been going since 1961 so have seen us go from a VERY Third Division team, to the top and back, and back again to where we are now.
What you are describing I'm afraid is the feeling that most of us have about the modern game. It's not the game we fell in love with all those years ago, but I will keep following the Rs and will keep going until I get priced out. It doesn't feel quite like it used to, but I don't know what the alternative is.
Well,not going I guess..... |

Joey Barton has scored two goals for us, is an England international and is our captain.
Our team is full of better players now than I have seen at Rangers for yonks. |

Where's your figures to back that up. In your dream world maybe. The man is an utter cùnt and I will be heartily glad when he leaves the club. As will you I suspect based on your comments both before and after Colins departure. _________________ It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope. |

Is an England International. What constitutes IS? I would have thought a recent appearance.
Although I do agree, I am not too sure about all the criticism he gets. I have a feeling alot of it is based around resentment of his tweeting / his salary, previous misdemenaours and not wholly an objective view of his contribution on a football pitch. Although he has not set the world alight either. |

The last 'O' Level I sat 54% got you an A but 80% had to be exceeded to receive an 'A*' It is probably still the same as I sat a GCSE French about 4 years ago and received 79% and my tutor asked if I wanted it re marked as I had only just missed an A* I didn't bother as it was for work and as long as I passed I had my fees reimbursed. _________________ It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope. |

Agreed - I've been going just a few years more than you Fawny, and it used to be that most players came through the youth team. You may have gone to school with them or lived in the same street. Frank Clarke used to lodge with a bloke I know. The players earned little more than some of the crowd in many cases. You felt a bond with them which perhaps may not have been requited, but seemed to be there just the same. Later you might have had a drink with Stan Bowles in a local pub. It's all so different now, but we're stuck with it. |

Supported the R's since 74. Right now am struggling to feel any 'love' towards barton, cisse or the business men running 'the brand' |
Ok just out of interest what would have to happen to make you feel that "love"? |
I really don't know Fawny, being able to identify or feel part of the whole thing, it just feels so detatched from any kind of reality. Team is being filled up with mercenaries, a manager who is biege and a CEO famous for rescuing 'the dome'. And then we have Barton. Hmm. |
Just what is the definition of a mercenary?
Top end championship wages of £15-20K a week apparently aren't considered mercenary, after all that's only around £1M a year, but £60K a week is mercenary. Players employ agents to get the maximum income for them and lets face it they do a good job. Would you turn down a rise, telling your boss you'd feel a bit of a mercenary if you took it?
I see no reason why players on £3M a year should try any less than players on £1M - both sums are far too much, but they are just the going rate for good footballers. |

Mercenaries? Those who engineer frequent transfers for all those lovely signing on fees and bonuses whilst being at best, moderately competent at football. Unless you are SWP in which case ignor the latter part and insert, "used to be able to run quite quickly" _________________ Why do you support QPR? Becuase everyone at primary school supported Middlesbrough & the R's had Stan Bowles. Enough said. 'appen |
