|
|
As they all are from now on,this weekend is huge in terms of opportunity for us. This weekend however, the other teams around us play the likes of Man city, Chelsea and Newcastle (B/burn, Bolton, and Wolves respectively).
It's a great chance for us to get some distance, and hope the teams at the other end can do us a favour. They've all got something to play for, titles or CL places. We've got to do our bit though and get the three points or it makes just that bit harder.
Wigan have Villa, should Wigan win and keep the gap between us and Villa the same, or vice versa, and lose, and stay rooted to the bottom? know what the best thing for us is? |

| Definitely a Villa win.I don't mind if we finish 4th or 5th from bottom,as long as we aren't in the drop zone on May 13th. |

Know what you are saying but is going to count for very little if this team doesn't get its game together.
I hope that the break and arrival of Diakite helps the team along - fulham will be out to give us nothing and the likes of Sidwell will be chipping away at our players.
I think we are in better shape than when we played them last time, barring ale faurlin missing although I hope we can get by without cisse's pace for the next couple of games. |

| All in favour of a plan b - won't be everyone's ideal but thought that SWP playing centrally with Zamora with Barton wide right and Diakite and Traore in the centre. Adel would start left side - just think we need the extra pace in the second striker role. |

What about a plan X?
They seem to be popular in spy and sci-fi films. |

Nah. That's just negative thinking.
Maybe satellite-based (eXtra-terrestial?) lasers used to gradually singe opposition players to a point where they lose their competitive edge or (if we are performing badly) burst into flames? |

Just my threepennyworth ;
Paddy/ Cerny in goal
Onuoha
Ferdinand
Hall
Taiwo in defence
Barton
Diakité
Traoré
Taarabt in midfield
Mackie
Zamora up front
One of the few positives from the second half against Balckburn was seeing how well Traoré played the sentral creative role and he has pace to spare. It also gave the option of him swapping with Taiwo a few times which caused Blackburn quite a number of problems with their organisation. _________________ It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope. |

It'd be unlike us if at least one of your choices didn't get injured during the week, |

I think we are all hoping that Diakite slots into the Faurlin role in midfield which is where we are lacking. It is the absolute fulcrum of the team and will dictate whether we stay up or go down (IMHO).
If we get that right we have to hope that everyone else starts performing to potential, as on paper we have a fantastic squad now, as long as we can isolate Jamie Mackie's enthusiasm and commitment and imbue that into the rest of the team. _________________ There's such a fine line between clever and stupid |

It'll be (hopefully) good to have Diakite doing what he is supposed to do well but I'd suggest our survival will depend on how well Cisse and Zamora perform in the remaining games. |

| Agree with this too - the midfield can help create as many chances as you like or help the defensive side of our game but we have not had a strike force pairing this season which would get us the goals we need. |

Fortunately if Sidwell says anything it'll be from the touchline as he's out for 6 weeks. |
