Anyone got a scooby?

Queens Park Rangers have won the battle to sign Australian striker Peter Skapetis.
The 17-year-old is rated very highly in his homeland and is considered one of the best players for his age in Australia.
Skapetis had previously linked up with Birmingham, but he has now signed professional terms with Rangers after impressing during training.
Skapetis has now signed a deal with the Premier League strugglers through to 2014. |

Or even Ned Zelic? As versatile as an egg as I recall... _________________ Far better is it to dare mighty things, than to dwell in the twighlight that knows neither victory nor defeat - T Roosevelt |

Nicky Ward was it? I remember one flash of promise at Cardiff (I think?) and *whooosh* The wizard from Oz was gone.
Was Ned Zelic Australian as well? We seem to have a particularly proud history with players from that nation. |

Nick Ward. He was on the list of the top 10 most promising young strikers to play for Perth thunderstorm or somethinmg like that. He was so ordinary that I will never get excited about an Aussie coming over until I have seen it with my own eyes. |

To be fair, Ned Zelic didn't lack talent or ability and in his 3 or 4 appearances I remember thinking he was quite a player.
I just had a look ont t'internet and he was bought to replace Laurent Blanc at Auxerre and had quite a few good clubs and international appearances under his belt too.
I hope the new kid is as talented as Ned.

I heard he lost any motivation to play for the club afer Danny Diccio sent him to a gay club for his welcome party. |

Really? I bet that went down really well with his blend of Croatian and Macho Aussie. The hard pitch excuse always did sound a bit lame. I also thought if he had stayed we would have had a really good midfield with him and Paul Murray together. _________________ It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope. |

Unless I am mistaken, he'll be our fifth such fellow.
4. We had a lad who played right back when I think we were in the Prem last, and my mind is going round and round and coming up with a lad called Andrew McDermott. I seem to recall him firing one in that if it hadn't of gone into the net, would have taken someone's head off in the lower loft.
5. Ardiles, he was an Ozzie as I recall!

I think you are all forgetting George Kulscar....and Reece Crowther. Reece was born in the US, but is an australian footballer, currently plying his trade for Wellington Pheonix (along with Nick Ward) Andrew McDermott spent a season or two at Wellington if memory serves.
How could you all forget George?!?!
I guess it's not that hard to forget...it's the forgiving that is hard. |
