Fair play to Wigan. Theyve beaten Liverpool and Arsenal away as well as Man Utd at home so deserve to stay up.
To be honest even before tonight Wigan's remaining fixtures against Blackburn and Wolves always gave them a pretty good chance of staying up so dont think much has changed, looking at the way Blackburn are playing it's us or Bolton.
Worse thing is it'll give Spurs hope of coming 3rd as well. |

It isnt over until its over. Good result for Wigan but who is ruling out us getting our own big results before the end of the season. We are still not in the relegation zone and have goal difference advantage over everyone else. |
I've not said this before but I genuinely do think we are now down. Wigan will not be caught playing like that. Plus they have easier games than us. Bolton have two extra games and loads of easy home games. I think it's perfectly reasonable to think that Wigan loss has royally f****d us. |
When you're as Sh1te as Bolton there is no such thing as an easy home game, and Spurs, Swansea and West Brom are not 'easy' - 3 points tops for Bolton there.
IF we win our home games, we'll stay up, 4 points may just be enough. Tiny chance of a shock at what will be a well worn Chelsea, City will ride us like the prison b1tch. _________________ "I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality" - Martin Luther King, Jr. |

... not playing like that Damien. Wigan actually look like a very credible
Premiership side. Much, much stronger than QPR.
Also why couldn't we have brought Victor Moses for £2m????
I'm also fearful our team are not altogether playing for Hughes in the way Wigan are playing for Martinez. _________________ www.globeatone.co.uk/football

They are as you say say though, a model of how to run a small club on and off the pitch. Martinez deserves massive credit for never abandoning his playing philosophy - it worked for them eventually. But they were shite at LR though |

All I'm saying is I'd consider having six games left with FOUR of them against teams with nothing left to play for (Swansea, WBA, Sunderland and Stoke) as infinitely preferable to having only 4 left and having to play 3 top 6 sides (2 of them away from home). Even with a 2 point start. I'd be amazed (and thrilled) if we finish above Bolton. _________________ @Archie_Thomas |

We had a run of "easy" home games too; and got bugger all. You just can't predict anything at the moment. All to play for, as the roller-coaster nears the end of the ride.
Even the spurs game can be looked at in two ways; Arsenal dropping points, so Spurs really up for it and we're buggered or Arsenal dropping points and the pressure all on Spurs who will slip on yet another banana skin.
Nowt we can do, other than watch and believe. Also, keep an eye on Villa! _________________ If you're ever lucky enough to slay a dragon, never go back to check if it's really dead. |

It might not help us that Arsenal play Chelshite at 12.45.If Arse win,it will mean that Spurs have to win,and if the scum win it means that they can still catch Arse if they beat us.Mind you,a draw between them doesn't do us any favours either. |

I'm not sure. Our home form is good.Their away form is crap.
I never thought we could beat Arsenal or Liverpool.
Of the seven home games under Mark Hughes,we've won 4,drawn against Everton, and the only losses have come after having a man sent off after 30 minutes.
The chances of us winning 5 in a row at home aren't great, but who knows what will happen next? |

We are where we are due to a seasons worth of results - bolton at home, wigan away, villa at home and many others are as much to blame as much as recent results.
Wigan have developed a formation which works for them in these pressure games where the opposition have something to play for and fair dues but if you can tell me that this will work for them from day one next season then think again.
My forecast for this weekend is that there will be a sending off in their game at fulham and in ours as well...... |

I do think we have more chance of catching Villa than Wigan. But I still want Villa to beat Bolton. Our best bet of staying up is a pretty spectacular Bolton implosion combined with us winning at least 2. _________________ @Archie_Thomas |
