Same story. Went to the Institute of Engineers to see the launch of the BBC micro. Hacked Elite and made myself a commander. _________________ Just keep calm. |

I earned my stripes sunshine! I got to be Elite about 2-3 times in total and wore out 2 very expensive joysticks before converting to a keyboard control pilot.
Still pop out in my MkIII Cobra with extra cargo hold every sunny weekend _________________ It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope. |

| I've still got the manual that came with my Spectrum. Ebay-bound one day no doubt (though a friend/fellow R recently paid a mere 35 quid for a complete, working and boxed C=64 so I doubt I'll get rich). |

I would guarantee that I will never see any of the £399 for the BBC B computer, £125 for the DFS Chip Set, £85 for the floppy disk drive, £199 for the Teletext adapter and £450 for the Microvitec cub monitor. With the other odds and sods that is about £1500 for a 32K computer Back in 1982 that must have been about 6 months wages _________________ It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope. |
