They didn't take their time in making that decision!

He was a bizarre appointment in the first place, no huge shock it hasn't worked out. To be fair they're pretty lucky, a couple of different results and they would have gone down.

They took 11 months didn't they? If the fans don't want a manager and continue to say so for that long, even if they're wrong or being unfair on a decent manager (which I wouldn't say was the case here, but might have been at Blackburn), the manager's got to go, because without the fans behind him and the team, the team can't be at its best. Of course a sensible manager in that situation would resign before sacked and make some bollocks reason up in order to do himself and the club a favour. Unless of course he didn't fancy his chances at getting another decent contract any time soon. Probably what's happened in both McLeish's and Keane's cases.

Or will they (again) make a poor managerial appointment (or make a decent one but then make it look like a bad one by not supporting the new man properly)?
