I rate Green over Foster.
Also, most 'keepers play up until they're 40 odd.
Foster apparently is settled in the Midlands so fancies staying at West Brom. Fair enough.
There's nothing to suggest that Hughes doesn't rate Foster more, called him up, found out that the player wants to stay in Birmingham and so moved on.
Green is a good organiser of defences - at club level anyway. Definitely an upgrade on Kenny at any rate. |

You talk about spending £5m on Ben Foster as 'dreaming too high' ...
This coming from the same poster that mentioned the difference a top keeper can make and how money should be no object ("Cloughie") when it comes to bringing quality to that area of the pitch?
Let's put that into context. He is contracted to a Championship club, it's no secret that they are open to offers for him. As it stands, West Bromwich Albion is his likely destination. Not Manchester United, not Manchester City or Barcelona - West Bromwich Albion. I don't think it's unrealistic to think that we can compete with them, both financially and ambition-wise.

Maybe we should just wait and see where Foster goes?
Maybe you'll get the keeper you think we can and should get. Maybe we'll get the one Hughes thinks we can and should get? And maybe you'll both get what you want. Or maybe not. |
