Wheelan has told Chelsum to go take a hike so it is unlikely we would stump up considerably more than that

You can see why! A bid of that much from those scumbags for your best player is derisory!

So everytime you bid on something you go straight in at market value?

Here we go again- we’ll pay you several million quid not to play for any of our rivals. Whelan should encourage Moses to speak with Scott Parker about his time at Chelsea.

Is clever really. Chelshit bid a miserly amount. Wigan reject it. Moses's head is now turned by this Chelsea interest and never wants to play for Wigan again for denying him his 'dream' move to Chelscum.

sounds like it was less than that even, Whelans quote today

"I have not put a price-tag on Victor but let's say that what Chelsea have offered is a lot less than £4m - that is absolutely stupid."

taking the mick as he rightly points out

Not really that clever if Mose has a brain.
He'll sit on the bench, occasionally, and lose all hope of playing for England.
Moving to club where he plays every week, for a premiership wage, say 50 grand a week, he could actually have a career.

Another one who could be off to the African Nations. We have to be careful of squad balance as far as that's concerned.

It's not easy building a squad, as there are so many bases to cover; positions, age, international impacts, wages, personality fit etc. etc...... One advantage we do have, is being a London club. The capital has huge attractions over many a Nothingtodohire. Not only is there tons of world class entertainment, there is something to suit every culture

At the end of the day, playing football is just a job (and a job where most pros have seen many promising players disappear from the game suddenly due to injury etc).

Maybe a "career" isn't always just about finances but for most people, in whatever they do, the first concern is financial security for themselves (and, sooner or later, their famly). I bet if you asked all the Pros in the Prem if they'd give up a year's wages for an international cap not too many would take the offer.

Playing football as a job; supporting a club as a hobby. Two very different worlds.

He'll never play for England as earlier this year he snubbed the u21s to transfer his association to Nigeria.

Maybe we can get him after all?
