Hi
Me again, posted a few times,
I write for http://www.greensonscreen.co.uk/ a Plymouth Argyle site.
Of the 966 player profiles we have in our Db, we have five with no firstname or just an first intial.
One is W. Barton, who you can see here:
http://www.greensonscreen.co.uk/gosdb-players2.asp?pid=50&scp=1,2,3,4,5,6,7
Who I believe came to us from Fulham in 1910 and then went to QPR, we can find no evidence of him ever playing for Fulham, first team or reserves so that fact might be duff.
Do any of you have any history books or old team photos you can check for him to see if we can identify his first name and whether indeed he played for you at all.

Warren Barton played for us in the early 2000s. Judging by his performances, turn of pace and vision, I think it is safe to say that he started his career in 1910.
I hope this helps. |

Its hard not to think of Warren isnt it when you see W Barton.
Not sure how 'in' Warren was in 1910. I suspect more a William or a Walter but undoubtedly he'd have probably been a lot better than his modern day counterpart.

We still have "Wanker" Barton on our books and he has the social skills of a street thug from around 1910. _________________ It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope. |

Thanks mate, that's the killer answer I was after - so our From and To club info both now look duff - will do some more digging and try and find out where we got our photo of him from too in case that helps.
