| Presumably the point he's making is that you've got the half time pole stuck so far up your arse you might actually be a dick on a stick? |

Is that post aimed at me ???
I can tell you in unequivocal terms that the point I am making & I will not apologise for it, infact, I should be thanked for bringing this debate out in to the open bcause lets be brutally honest, its a debate that needed / needs to be had.
The opinion is completely split an it always has been.
MY Opinion, is that this song is silly and makes us look silly as a football club, it makes us look stupid & "Mickey Mouse" I would certainly never consider apologising for bringing this debate to peoples attention.
Do people not care how our club is perceived by others ???
Mark my words, if we actually ever go on a "CUP RUN" & draw a fellow London Club ( remember them ??! ) and this unfortunate song has not been eradicated by then, then we will NEVER live it down or hear the end of it.
I am not prepared to stand by and say nothing whilst my beloved club makes a laughing stock of itself.

I'll have a bovril..
The majority of fans sing the song
The players know the words
The chairman and new owner know the words
The t-shirt in the club shop has the right words
yet you say and your words that "10% of supporters sing the song"
Sorry, but I have lost the argument |

No problems with having different opinions.
But justifying your dislike for a song, by actually re-inventing another word is beyond me |

But people ARE allowed different opinions .....??
Even the idiotic and uniformed (and experts on "looking silly") even if they come from a place like, say ................. Beckenham? |

OK Pete, you can "Win" this one if you want.
And I wouldnt classify it as an "argument" either more a debate, that has been ongoing constantly since this chant first surfaced.
To be honest, I would be a tad worried if the players & chairman & new owner didnt know the words, its hardly Bohemian Rhapsody in its lyrical complexity is it ???
The majority of fans sing the song, No, I'm not having that, that has never been the case when I've been at Rangers over the last 6 months, even when I was sitting a couple of blocks down from all you lot in Ellerslie Road.
When you sit in South Africa Road, it just doesnt sound like that, that is an ACOUSTIC FACT!
Also another point about your claim that "The Majority Of fans sing this song" well this very poll backs that claim less than two to one, so it can hardly be called overwhelming can it ???
I respect your enthusiasm for the club Pete, certainly a lot more enthusiastic & passionate than I can claim to be, but the song is not going to stand the test of time.
Anyway, this is all getting rather tiresome, if people want to sing the song, then I'm not knocking that, I just dont think it has that Loftus Road anthem status to it, in the way that WE R QPR, Pigbag or Magic Hat does.
I'm sure SOME of the ground will continue to sing this song, whilst folk in other parts of the ground will contine to cringe & squirm uncomfortably in their seats thinking thoughts such as "Please make it stop" and "God, it really does sound like that doesnt it ??"
Anyway thats it from me on this particular subject, Best Of British to each & everyone of you.

I can think of a few politicians who wouldn't turn their nose up at nearly a two-to-one majority! |

As I am the arbiter of cool...a quick ruling (that and I can't be arsed to read a 7 page thread). Becks is right. Judgement based on this: The more an individual tries to make something cool the less cool it becomes. |

My tuppence worth...
Beckenham hoop is spot on in my opinion. The song is naff and sounds pathetic when heard by the tv audience. I have been the butt of more than one joke by non QPR mates because of this inane and brain numbing 'chant' (its hardly a song lets be honest).
New badge, new board, new sponsor, new signings, etc so lets have some new songs for the new era. |

i agree, it's a sh!t chant that I will never sing as everyone who I have taken to games recent;y have all turned round and asked why we are singing about being rent boys.
Unfortunately as it seems to be sung by the same pocket of fans who do most of the singing and as they all seem to like it so much I can't see them stopping despite how it really does sound like they're willing to sell their bums for cash.
I guess we'll just have to put up with being the butt (no pun intended) of most visiting supporters jokes _________________ "We'll be running round Chelsea with our wallets hanging out...." |
