I won't bother writing a report about this one, I'm sure that everyone here watched it.

Just a few points i thought were worth mentioning though.

Firstly although i wouldn't single out Fitz Hall... I realized yesterday just how important Stewart has become to our defence. Him and Gorkss compliment each other exceptionally well, and yesterday I didn't feel at ease with the back line.

It's funny when the season started, I thought Stewart wouldn't be anywhere near the first team - but I've come to realize that he is absolutely crucial.

I posted on here before the game about Camp's attitude during warm ups, and from the first second he walked onto the pitch both me and Caitlin were 1000% sure he would start. For once he wasn't strutting round like a sulking kid, and actually looked like he wanted to be there!

Either way I thought there were very few players to come out with any credit from yesterday. Miller or Leigertwood would probably be my choice for MOM, the latter probably just edging it.

I have to say I thought Sousa got it badly wrong yesterday. Although De Carmine nicked in with a goal at the beginning it was clear the he is no target man. For all of his effort/work rate he just had no support at all, and had very little impact for the remainder of the game. Why he didn't start Blackstock is beyond me... but i can't help thinking its partly due to him possibly leaving when the season ends?

I thought the few times when Routledge got the ball he looked dangerous, but Ipswich just seemed to mark him out of the game and we had no outlet.

I do think though that the final score flattered Ipswich and but for a few dodgy decisions by the referee who knows, maybe we would have nicked something.

Sousa's second mistake in my eyes was the substitution of Miller. My hope is that he did this with one eye on Wednesday night. But either way it was baffling. Not only was Miller giving us a cutting edge in the middle, but Mahon was having an absolute shocker. I know he was our captain, and generally you don't substitute them, but when a player is in that kind of form - they are a liability, and that was the case with the crucial goal.

There were plenty of warning signs earlier in the game, but why he was left on the pitch was beyond me! I don't feel its a reflection on him, but it was clear in his body language that he was almost playing with fear, and I really can't see how/why Sousa felt best to leave him on?

I will mention one thing that shocked me - our fans. To those mindless idiots that decided to boo him, what were you thinking?!?!
Yes Mahon had a shocker of a game, but what good was that going to do! I'm glad that you 'fans' were outnumbered by people clapping Mahon's every touch in the end. Whoever decided to do that - your an absolute disgrace!

He has had a pretty good season for us overall, and didn't deserve that at all.

Either way I hope this is just a blip and hoping for 3 points on Wednesday.

Come on U R'ss!!

Oh and before i forget - nice meeting you Cait Smile

As always cheers for the update SM and it begs the question why didn't you get back to the island until Sunday at 5pm?! Razz

Have you no idea how time-consuming it is running multiple households (especially considering the need to avoid causing suspicion in those involved or the authorities)?
