Especially as it states at the top left that there are no MODS. The plot thickens.

There's a secret mod, one who pulls all the strings, shaping the clique board to suit his own ends ...

... step forward GP!

I thought any problem with the weld had been eliminated when Hadyn moved to the green, obviously not.

What a thoroughly depressing thread.
I think I'm losing the will to live with all things QPR at the moment.

Although I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I wasn't under such heavy sedation.

The voice of reason.

I thought the QPR Discussion forum was set up to be the 'sensible' forum, with the QPR, football and general forum for all the other stuff, so why does there need to be an extra secret one as well?

All you have to say is that elite folk need secret places to where they can escape to avoid the hoi poloi.

Obviously angel

Why DO people make such a song and fckn dance over all this? If you don't like a messageboard or the way its run, don't use it, don't go on the board bleating about it. Rolling Eyes

Ooh - parallels with the current QPR board vs fans "debate".
Nice one.

Miserable and moaning are the new cheerful and stoical.

Obviously --- but sadly.

Just an attempt - a poor attempt admittedly - at satire.
Your quote could have come from our esteemed friend with the orange skin to all the whining, moaning supporters.

Which is not really the point - as the club is more than just financial ownership. It's unlike other businesses where emotional investment has been poured in by thousands over the years - and is just as much of what makes a club what it is, as is the shares issued and players currently in the squad.

I just believe the same could be taken for this messageboard.
When I bought my first PC in about 96/97, the first thing I typed into Yahoo was QPR. (Might have been "tits" but "QPR" was a close second)
And on the returned list was "QPR.Org".
Only a viewer for the most part, but also contributed on and off ever since, as, I guess, have hundreds if not thousands of others.

My point is that this is much more than "just another MB". And I think, for what it's worth (probably f-all) the admin and ownership should reflect and respect that a little more.
In hindsight - the two board split was fair-enough. But mod that split by subject and not by participant. Was there really anything THAT bad to justify bans?

As I say, just my humble opinion on things "dot org".

Blimey, having spent 10 minutes of my life wading through this stuff...well I might as well contribute

I still like this site. Clive's stuff on LFW is superb, but I still find the forum there a bit hit & miss...and it shows how having all subject matters lumped together on one forum can be messy (too many 'political' threads appear on there where people spout odious views and you think hang on, I know you're Rangers...but you're also a complete tosser)...so that's one of the reasons I'm happy with the 'split' board here (tho I do question why so many entertaining posters are banned from the 'serious' board)...good quality of debate to be found on Ron & Simon's site, but the m/b is sadly under-used, making it an occasional rather than a regular stopping point

I have a lot of respect for DG for 'saving' this board when battletank disappeared, and as Don says there needs to be a certain amount of 'my gaff. my rules'

But the Players Lounge I don't get. A totally unnecessary extra level. I always see m/b's as like a virtual pub. Go in any 'home' pub before the game and you instantly feel comfortable because it's all Rangers. Go in regularly, and soon you find there are some gropups who, despite being Rangers, you think are idiots...and others on your wavelength. You sit with the latter and don't worry about the former. So on an m/b...you read the threads / posters that appeal to you...and simply don't waste time with the rest

I've got to know many more Rs through this board than I'd ever have dreamed of in the pre-internet world (including a couple of the clique Wink ) and am very grateful for that fact. No need to spoil it all with People's Front of Judea / Judean People's Front nonsense

Oh well, badly constructed rant over...time for bed...unless you're DAVEf or Report...

Finally I have a home, somewhere that is madder than the rest of my life and where I belong.

Thank you all.
