what can the protesters do ? Stan if you turn on your TV you will be able to answer your own rather simple question very easily.

Baz the only similar thing that could happen here one day would be against our Monarchy not against our government.

The govt here is irrelevant and powerless , the true power structure in this country starts and ends with our monarchy but their popularity is pretty solid so I cant see that happening any time soon.

Esox its not just the yanks who are worried about what is happening in Egypt, its unpopular land grabbing neighbours Israel who are very worried.

A friendless nation is about to lose one of its biggest 'allies' in Egypt which will undoubtedly change the entire balance of power in the region.

Let the Egyptian people decide for themselves who they want to run their country and if we don't like it then tough.

you're so eager to make this about Israel. You dont give a sh1t about what the Egyptians want.

Israel will be fine. Nothing much will change regarding her relationship with Egypt, which is one of a "cold peace". Nobody wants war, most of all the Egyptians. They've got long memories.

On the up side, it looks like the ME has caught democracy fever. Syria's next on the list & with a bit of luck, Iran will fall eventually as well.

Long term, democracy in the countries surrounding Israel can only be a good thing. Bright days ahead for the whole region imo.

Eager to make this about Israel?

Not at all , I would rather we never had to talk about Israel.

The fact is this is very important for Israel and you are a fool if you do not realise that.

Your very own leader is saying he is scared.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iFmSA_BHNEA2qS0HM9-qZtLQUFdg?docId=901e9e7f61fe40ad8249b6fccb02b179

The Saudis are the big one , if a revolution occurs their and they manage to get rid of the house of Saud then Israel is in BIG trouble.

I'm not saying Egyptians want war , but I am pretty sure they are not happy with the shameful support of Israel the Mubarak regime has maintained under his control and you can bet your bottom dollar that if a democratic process takes place in Egypt then the situation in Gaza will change for the better.

You are living in a dream world if you think this is good news for Israel.

It clearly isn't , you reap what you sow.

Do you know any Egyptians? if you do, ask them their opinion on Hamas & Gaza. They despise them more than they'd ever despise Israel.

You're right about Saudi Arabia. That's the big worry & if Saudi Arabia falls, it'll be a disaster for the whole world, including you in your nice cozy W13 flat...depending on what sort of Govt replaces the current regime of course.

Militarily, none of them are a major threat to Israel.

Yes I am lucky enough to have a friend from Egypt who was in Cairo just 2 weeks ago so have been able to ask him many questions on the situation.

Disaster for the whole world? How do you work that out?

If the house of Saud falls then the US influence in the region will be on the wrong side and Israel will be open to attack from all sides.

Might be scary for you but in my cosy W13 flat I am not too worried about it

Cool

Egypt is massive , you know it just like your terrorist leader NetenYAHOO knows it , if you lose Mubarak and do not get a replacement who is on your side then Israel is in trouble.

The clock is ticking.

Tick tock.

wtf do you think will happen to the price of oil if Saudi Arabia falls? The current recession will seem like a picnic when the price of oil doubles, & that, my naive friend, will effect you in a big way.
