of sounding Daily Mail, but isn't the latest news that HIV victims can have an increased life expectancy of +15 years a bit counter productive? Viruses are here to kill us off. If we find ways around it aren't we opening the door for a full scale epidemic?

If you're going to leave out the humanity in your statement. Viruses are here for the same reason we are, to reproduce. Increasing the life expectancy of the sick would simply be a win-win situation for both biological life forms.

They found a way round the smallpox virus over 30 years ago. We're doomed.

Damn it. I wanted the finish the book I'm currently reading.
