He'll be manager of Leeds United before the end of the month. _________________ Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!

Wolves have sacked manager Mick McCarthy in a bid to avoid the drop from the Barclays Premier League.
The Molineux side are third bottom after their humiliating 5-1 home defeat by rivals West Brom on Sunday.
The club have announced that Terry Connor will take charge of training in the interim until a new manager is appointed.
A statement on the club's website read: 'Wolves have today announced that manager, Mick McCarthy, has left the club with immediate effect.
'The board took the difficult decision to terminate Mick's contract after a run of form which has seen Wolves pick up only 14 points in the last 22 League games, after a promising start to the season, culminating in yesterday's 5-1 defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion.
'The board would like to place on record their sincere thanks and appreciation to Mick McCarthy and he leaves with the very best wishes of everyone connected to the club.' |

| It would be most considerate of Wolves, for the benefit of this board, if they could hire Warnock. We'd then be able to definitively answer to the would he / wouldn't he debates about keeping us up come May. |

Yes, far better to resolve a dot org argument than us to maintain our premierhip status at a rivals expense. _________________ Kosovo blue on losing 1-0 to QPR

SE27 - Surely nothing in life can be more important that being proved right on this board. Anyone who argues against that is wrong. WRONG, I tell thee! |

Think MM's departure is good nooze for us. Although their form is gash he has previous of keeping 'em up. Fingers crossed they hand the job to a fool. _________________ @Archie_Thomas |

Watching Wolves yesterday, just confirmed why we'll be playing in the CCC next season: how we could lose to a team that bad? |

By having a player sent off maybe?
There's no way they'd have even got a point at LR if Cisse had kept his cool.
All yesterday showed was that Wolves are currently the poorest team in the league, although I'm crossing my fingers that there's no new manager bounce. _________________ Far better is it to dare mighty things, than to dwell in the twighlight that knows neither victory nor defeat - T Roosevelt |

Against a stronger team what you say is valid - but Jesus wept Wolves are bad. I don't think any manager is going to keep them up.WBA were very good too. |

I think so ... Experienced manager with a reasonable pedigree, not too many out of work managers at the moment:
Curbishley ... he's left it too long in my opinion
Warnock ... not form at this level
So Steve Bruce is pretty much a no brainer. _________________ Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!
