I disagree with this this "gutless" charge laid at the door of our new squad.

If we'd have built slowly and solidly like Swansea or Norwich we may see a team pulling together, fighting tooth and nail for each another and for club. Given the route we've chosen to progress (pretty much a one man team last season, requiring a large draft of new faces this) we can expect the players to work hard, as they are doing, and that's about it. This is nothing to do with being mercenary or gutless, it's simply a symptom of a club that's arguably been promoted too quickly and has certainly been unsettled for years.

I don't. I think he was all out of ideas. The MK Dons 1st match demonstrated that. Piss poor.

The same could be said about the first half at Blackburn.

Except Blackburn are a Premier League club with Premier League players while MK Dons aren't even in the League One automatic promotion places.

And at Blackburn we at least had a decent 20-30 minutes play to enjoy while at MK we had just one minute (OK, maybe two)..

Point missed. Selectively picking one match doesn't prove that a manager is running out of ideas or perhaps you think Warnock should have been sacked after we lost to Port Vale last season?

Neil Warnock did what we know he is good at last season - he got us promoted. I think everyone expected him to radically change the squad over the summer as we all thought there were areas which had to be addressed in the team. As we all know, his hands were tied until after the boardroom takeover and he had days instead of months to put things together - before that we were doing desparate free transfers as that was all he was able to do. As a result the job was unfinished and I think the plan was to readdress that in the January transfer window. Unfortunately he was dismissed half way through that and Mark Hughes came in in a similar situation, having to cram weeks of business and negotiation into days. In both cases I felt we have panicked and papered over cracks as a short term qick fix when what we need is a settled long term solution.

Easy enough for me to say, but I can't help feeling that the backroom politics have taken their heavy toll.
