how many games will Diakite be out after the sending off.
Will it be 1 game and does that mean that Cisse and Diakite will be back in two weeks , So no excuses if we lose again.
This will be the first game with all the additions.

And, hopefully, he used up his entire season's quota of missed tackles in that 33 minutes yesterday |

| To be fair to the lad, it really wasn't his fault that he was well off the pace, but I will say on the few occasions he did get the ball he did not look out of his depth at all and showed some nice touches. Must have been a bit confused by the refereeing at times like the rest of us with Dowd, mercilessly shoved off the ball by Murphy at one point which should have resulted in a yellow and within 10 minutes he collects two! |

Doesn't matter what you think of Phat Phil we were saying well before the second yellow that Diakite was not going to make it till half time and why couldn't Hughes see that and haul him off. Better we soldier on with Derry or Buszaky than go down to 10 men - lame excuses from Hughes after the game, other managers have seen the writing on the wall in those sort of situations and acted. _________________

| If you'd seen some of the robust tackling in the African Nations Cup, it's not too surprising he collected two yellow cards... |

I watched the whole game on a good quality internet stream (there are some!) and thought Dowd had a very good game.
Both commentators said that Diakite probably should have been yellow carded before he was anyway. |

Exactly right. It's Hughes job to read the situation and quite frankly, a 1 month old puppy would have read it better than him. Poor. _________________ Serfs ye were and serfs ye shall remain.....until Doomsday.......Richard II, 1381) |

Ever seen a batsman spend a dozen overs waving at fresh air then going on to get a century?
Ever seen a Tennis player lose a first set to love looking like a rank amateur then come back to win a match?
Hughes knows what Diakite can do and was obviously waiting for his adrenaline levels to settle. Unfortunately, the Ref didn't. |
