Surprised he's only 31, you'd think he's nearly 40 the way some people have gone on about how old he is.

Does seem an age since he made his name at Palace though.

So does this mean with Nelsen and Johnson announced that Diakite and Green will also be announced shortly?

Not a bad free signing when you look at his past and see he was signed for figures around the £10m mark twice in his career.

If he can stay fit, we'll have a decent selection of strikers to choose from.

Diakite is still waiting on international clearance and green is supposed to be announced tomorrow/wednesday...

He's one of those players that I've always had an irrational hatred for....

Not sure why.

He always seemed to score against us, that might have something to do with it.

Hopefully this has reduced goals against by 1 or 2 then, unless he scores a couple of own goals.

So are we now going to play 3-3-4?

Keeper

Hill Nelsen Ferdinand

Diakité Taarabt Faurlin

Johnson Zamora Helguson Cissé.

With a strong bench including Young, Onuoha, Derry, Mackie, Traore, SWP Smith or others of course.

That would be a shame. He's a decent player and we've not really got anyone else who could do the job when needed. Let's face it: we're not going to play with the same starting 11 all season.

I agree, he's a good player - but he didn't play a single minute (I don't think) after the Sunderland game, where he got ruined by that James McClean - Hughes obviously went off him in a big way.

If Young goes are we after another right back? I guess Fabio can play there though if he does actually come to us.

You'd think with Ned and the expected incoming of Fabio on loan and also remember he was a Warnock signing....

Hughes might consider him surplus now with the 25 man squad rule...

We also as far as I'm aware still have no definitive answer if Tiawo is staying or going....

So incomings....

defo...

Johnson
Nelsen

expected....

Diakte
Green
Fabio

possible?

Tiawo
