Cheating, diving git, yes. Just to get that out of the way first.
I had high hopes for him in this England side, despite my recent dislike of his gymnastics I always thought he was an excellent attacking player and that he'd improved at Utd.
However, I'd have his place as at risk in this side. He hasn't really done all that much to justify his inclusion in the 3 games from my point of view.
That's set him up for a brace against Italy on Sunday now, so Halleleujah for that... _________________ Far better is it to dare mighty things, than to dwell in the twighlight that knows neither victory nor defeat - T Roosevelt |

The team is unbeaten in winning the group.
Successful teams are about the team.
Letting individuals play off the cuff is sometimes interesting for fans but team shape with everyone having a job, knowing their job and doing their job is what tends to produce good results.
So maybe Young hasn't shone brightly but then maybe he is doing the right things for the team? Frankly, I often have trouble seeing what supposed wonders Rooney brings to a team (whichever it may be) but all his team-mates always insist the team is better for having him playing so I have to accept the fault lies with me and not Rooney.
Young does work defenders hard and the idea of having a battering-ram like Carroll and speed merchants like Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain on the bench to exploit tiring defenders is clearly working so far. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he got the assist for the goal we scored last night?
Young hasn't been playing amazingly but he hasn't been playing badly. |

There's only one person who deserves an "Assist" for last night's goal |

It was Gerrard that crossed the ball last night and after pinballing around their players Rooney headed home. Can't remember Young being anywhere near it. _________________ 'Live every week like it is shark week' |

Possibly the sitter Rooney missed.
Young's crossing when he cuts inside is deadly.
Gerrard's set piece delivery has been immense. _________________

On this board, such errors are usually down to drink, age or both. |

Ah that's the one. I think they showed more replays of that then the actual goal.
