Where do you think this player will end up?

He is returning to England and looking for a club. Realistically, I suspect he will end up in the Championship, probably at a Northern team like Blackburn or Bolton, maybe even Blackpool, because his missus is Northern.

Would have thought he'd have given Leeds a boost, but Ken Bates is as tight as a gnats chuff and didn't offer Alan Smith a deal despite fans wanting him back, so that's unlikely.

He's 33 now but he's always been a class player, if incredibly inconsistent, and he was said to be awesome for Galatasary (to the degree that Liverpool were said to be interested in him again just a year ago).

Do you think he could still do a job in the Premier League? Maybe on a one year deal?

Would you have him at QPR? Ignoring the fact that you already have lots of players at the end of their careers.....

... perhaps if you could swap out another thirty something for him?

I think I'd have him at Norwich tbh, on a one year deal, on a reasonable wage. Worth a punt.

He couldn't set the A-League a light so not sure he could do much else where although I'm not sure he was trying his hardest last season

I would laugh so hard if he went to Norwich. He was finished years ago.

Used to be a terrific player, but he's shot now.

To be honest I think I'd rather see him in the Championship where he could make a real difference to a team and have an impact week in week out.

Rather than becoming a rotation player in the Prem sitting on the bench half the time collecting his pay cheque.

Think it would say a lot about the man, and would make some fans somewhere happy.

.... Reckon he could score some cracking goals in the Championship, there's no way that he is "shot" enough not to be a good player in that league.

Putting aside Gunter and Clyne and a few other players, there's probably loads of full backs who wouldn't be all that in Turkey or the A-League.

So I'd quite like to see him sign for a Palace or Millwall, or maybe even MK Dons teaming up with Alan Smith again.

I reckon he'd do a job for somebody in the Premier League, but realistically isn't going to play any more than say 18 games a season in this division now.

Could still be a star at a club like Blackpool.... a Leeds return would give Leeds fans a buzz, but Ken Bates doesn't seem to care too much about their fans, so won't happen.
