Rumours were that if we went down he was going to Everton. Would be shocked if he went to the championship. _________________

Perfect as a squad player but perhaps the lad himself wants a level of first team action that he knows he may not get at QPR? |
Oh here we go again.
People prejudge Mackie thinking he doesn't have ability, paradoxically because of the ability he has, which makes them think that he's not a "skillful" player.
He really really is. And he's proven it. End of. |
No. I don't prejudge him.
I've seen him for two seasons with us and a year as a kid at Wimbledon.
He is NOT a technically "skilful" player by any definition I can think of. He is a great bloke, a real 100%'er with bags of enthusiasm and desire to learn. Which is great if that's all your after. In the end, I would assume Hughes wants the little edge provided by a better player. |
Important finshes in recent times at Swansea and against Liverpool and Man City have shown some decent level of technical skill? |
I don't want people to get the wrong impression here. I like Mackie. I want him to stay. He offers a huge amount to the club and the squad but ultimately, he's a limited player and by no means better than what we are looking to bring in and we all want to improve don't we? The boy may well feel he'd be better served by being a starter at another club. Can't blame him if that was the case.
Swansea, yes decent finish (similar to Ipswich away last year). Liverpool, straight under the keeper and Man City, header off the bridge of the nose into the floor. |

Mackie gives 100%, scored a few important goals and some are OK with him going, yet there are plenty that defend Zamora who supposedly is a striker and only scored a couple of goals and as far as I can see does less for the side than Mackie.
Glad I'm not a manager. |

| I doubt he would go to a Championship club. I had my doubts about his ability but he was our player of the season last year. A model professional; I really hope he doesn't leave. |

I can't see the transfer being anywhere near as close to being finalised as they've made out, but is anyone else nervous that Mackie could end up leaving this summer?
I would hope that Hughes would keep him on board. Worth his weight in gold for me. |
BLACKBURN?????
They got relegated because the Venkys refused to invest in the team. I really can't see them suddenly coming up with £3,500,000 _________________ Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!

ask the talented Spurs left back how he found playing against the untalented Mackie because he looked like he had a torrid from my seat. |

To be fair, Assou-Ekotto is to top level defending what SW-P would be to top level Basketball. But Mackie has made plenty of others look uncomfortable. |

Patrice Evra didn't enjoy himself too much either. _________________

Mackie is out there. He can't be bargained with. He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And he absolutely will not stop running, ever, until you are dead tired. _________________ If drink isn't the answer, you were asked the wrong question |

Can you stop him, Kyle?
I don't know, Andre. With these weapons, I don't know.

Having watched Mackie throughout last season, I was quite taken back by actually how good of a player he actually is.
It goes without saying that he has heart and commitment in abundance, but to say that he doesn't have the ability to play at Premership level is actually quite insulting to him.
His composure infront of goal is right up there with the best we have (barring Cisse IMO). Rarely when Mackie gets a chance does he miss. Look at the composure for his goal against Liverpool, or look at the class in his rocket against Blackburn.
He gave many a defender a torrid time last season, just ask Essou-Ekotto how he found playing against Mackie at Loftus Road. I bet he would struggle to find another opposition player he would least rather play against after the battering he took that day.
Mackie isn't a headless chicken or a mere hard worker. He is a Premiership player and he's proved that last season. He deserves a place at QPR, if we're stupid enough to offload him then I'm sure many a Premiership team will gladly take him off our hands. He's a credit to any club... Far, far too good for Blackburn. _________________ Isle Of Wight R'ssssssssss |

Just fully read the other comments and seen Evra and Ekotto mentioned.
Glad we're in agreement though! We're lucky to have Mackie at QPR, the longer he's here the better. _________________ Isle Of Wight R'ssssssssss |
