Same for me. Seeing the new one on my phone but not my computer. I did a proper cache cleanout and everything. Not too bothered though as there's always tomorrow. _________________

Unless I have missed the whole 4G is here launch in the UK?!?!
I like my iPhone and iPad combo!! |
Well quite, its a ridiculous point. and even so he has only named 5 phones. If all of them were better than the iPhone (which they are not) it would still leave it 6th.
I'll tell you what you can have the Toco Lite if your really struggling? |
I wasn't attempting to list all, just threw a few out there. A phone is not judged on the network it uses but the features it provides. I fully expect the iPhone 5 to be up there with the best, if not the best, as long as they bridge the gap on the main features. |

| They probably have both sites running on separate servers whilst the DNS records propogate, it'll just randomly start working over about 48 hours depending on your ISP. |

Seeing the new site on my phone, but there's a greyish overlay for the entire page that deosn't allow me to click anything. Tried it out on the stock phone browser and the latest dolphin browser. No different and I've never encountered this on any other website.
Anyone else seeing this? I've no access to desktop/laptop for the moment. |

Are "official" websites designed for the likes of us anyway?
Die-hard match attenders across the footballing firmament have long since ditched "official" sites, mocked them for being hopelessly stringent and providing news that has broken across independent boards, Twitter and other social networks much faster. We've learned to harvest our gossip and news from these sources and interacted with other fans in a far more social way than we ever would if we just hung around the "offish" waiting for an update or transfer news once in a blue moon?
Surely "official" sites are aimed at being pretty and grabbing floating fans or overseas visitors, promotional vehicles to drive product and third party product, to sell tickets and to sell merchandise as their core reason for existence? Occasionally, very occasionally you'll get some top drawer innovation (see www.mcfc.co.uk where money is never, ever, ever a barrier) but in the vast majority, I'd bet that the dwell time for ST holders on "official" sites is far far less than their dwell time on similar messageboards to this.
Just a thought |

Damn those phones that can't cook, clean, , fly into outer space and play video streams all to a perfect level.
D'you think it might be a design flaw? |

Be interesting to see what some of the other football league teams are doing - the majority of football clubs will have this new template, wonder if any look good? _________________

Just answered my own question by looking at a couple of other sites....they all look as bad (some worse!) _________________

The new website is shambles... In saying that, at the moment I don't know whether it's better or worse than the last one (which was also poor) _________________

The new site breaks pretty much every recognised design principle and was clearly coded by an idiot. I won't go into the technicalities but there are clear signs that the backend is badly designed such as text have been updated in one place but not another.
The league table is huge and only shows four clubs for no real reason, and then underneath it there is a strange button labeled The View which contains a quote from 1971 and links to our News page. I guess it's some stock text or something but what the hell is this even supposed to be? I await exciting match performance analysis from from everbody's favourite Scottish indie rock band The View of "same jeans on for four days" fame.
QPR Player is still a disaster of proprietary terribleness and the videos are close in quality to a VHS tape (but not quite that good).
On the plus side, the Brentford site is the same except the elements appear to have been strewn across the page at random with giant white gaps:
http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/page/Home/
So hey, it could be worse I guess. |

I think the shooting stats page needs checking... Every player that had a shot last season, either hit the target or hit the woodwork. 36 woodwooks for SWP, 28 for Taarabt, even Matt Connolly hit the woodwork twice!
Now I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to rose tinted glasses but that's pushing it! |
